🎵 Music Training with Mr. Retz

Students participate in music instruction with Mr. Retz using Dr. Edwin Gordon’s Music Learning Theory, a research-based approach that teaches children to understand music as a language. Through singing, rhythm, movement, and listening activities, students develop strong musical foundations while growing in confidence, creativity, and joyful participation.

This approach benefits all learners by strengthening listening skills, attention, coordination, memory, and social engagement. It is especially supportive for children with neurodiverse learning styles because it uses repetition, movement, and structured musical patterns that help with regulation, communication, and participation.

To support every child’s success, speech and occupational therapy services are available on-site. Therapists may collaborate with the music teacher to provide strategies and adaptations so each student can fully benefit from their music experience.
