At St. John Henry Newman Academy, we believe that parents are the primary educators of their children. It is both a privilege and a responsibility to partner with families in fulfilling this God-given vocation. Our role is not to replace the education that begins in the home, but to support, encourage, and enrich it through faithful instruction, academic excellence, and a nurturing community rooted in the Catholic intellectual tradition.
As a homeschool hybrid academy, we recognize that education is most successful when parents and educators work together with mutual trust, open communication, and a shared commitment to each child’s intellectual, spiritual, and personal growth. We strive to equip students with the knowledge, virtue, and habits necessary to pursue truth, goodness, and beauty while supporting parents in forming their children into faithful disciples of Christ.
Parents retain the ultimate responsibility for their child’s education. They are encouraged to remain actively involved in their child’s learning by reviewing coursework, monitoring academic progress, approving course selections and final grades, and partnering with teachers to ensure their child receives the support and guidance needed to thrive.
Together, parents and the Academy form a collaborative partnership dedicated to helping each student grow in wisdom, virtue, and a lifelong love of learning. By working together in a spirit of charity and shared purpose, we seek to cultivate young men and women who are prepared to serve God, their families, the Church, and their communities with integrity, compassion, and excellence.
