St. John Henry Newman Academy is an education model built intentionally for the family. We believe that the formation of children happens best when school life strengthens, rather than replaces, family life. Our structure provides the flexibility, support, and peace that many families are seeking but rarely find in traditional schooling environments.
We operate under a homeschool partnership model: families remain the primary educators, maintaining the freedom and flexibility of homeschooling, while we pool our resources to hire experienced, credentialed teachers to provide high-quality instruction. This allows students to learn in a warm, structured environment while still keeping decision-making and family rhythms at the center.
Because we are a homeschool hybrid, we are not bound by the strict attendance and truancy rules of conventional schools. Families have the freedom to:
Travel during the year Take days to rest, recover, or regroup Attend family events and liturgical seasons more deeply Maintain a healthier pace of life
This flexibility reduces stress and re-centers family time as a priority—not an afterthought.
Our small class sizes allow most academic work to be completed during the school day, dramatically reducing or eliminating homework. This gives families back their evenings to share meals, play, pray, and truly be together.
At the same time, our model removes the pressure and isolation often felt in homeschooling:
Our teachers are qualified, experienced, and capable of teaching advanced and specialized subjects. On-site speech and occupational therapists allow us to support children with additional learning or developmental needs without requiring families to coordinate multiple outside appointments. Students learn in a community that supports both academic growth and character formation.
The result is the best of both worlds:
The flexibility, freedom, and family rhythm of homeschooling plus The structure, expertise, and community support of a school environment
St. John Henry Newman Academy is a place where children can flourish and families can breathe again. It is education that forms the mind, nurtures the soul, and protects the integrity of family life—the way education was always meant to be.
